| ARES - Linn County, Iowa |
The Planning Committee would be equivalent to the Board of Directors of a club. However, it is not limited to just the EC and AECs. Anyone can participate.

Lots. We discuss past activities, including public service events that ARES, CVARC, or any other local Amateur group has participated in. We honestly discuss what went right and what went not so right, and what we could do differently to improve. We discuss arrangements and plans for future activities, such as upcoming events and training sessions. We also review and critique drafts of Plans and Standard Operating Procedures that we are developing in coordination with agencies for which Amateurs may be called on to assist. These will appear on our Web page as we get them finalized.

We meet the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meetings are over before 9:00 PM (unless we are having too much fun). Meetings are held at the Red Cross building at 6300 Rockwell Drive NE in Cedar Rapids. We occasionally have a conflict getting access to the building, so monitor 146.745 MHz on your way there.

There is no formal list of people "on" the Planning Committee. It consists of Amateurs who are willing to devote some of their time to making ARES work. This meeting is a working session, so don't be surprised if someone asks you to help accomplish a task. However, we encourage anyone with an interest to show up. Some of our recent participants have been N0GUD (EC), KC0OX, KF0VF, KD0HF, KC0PON, KB9CEF, K0PAS, KB0KW and WA6GFD.
