VHF/UHF Antenna at St. Luke's Hospital
Equipment Installed: VHF/UHF antenna. Coax with a
male PL-259 connector.
Equipment Needed: Radio and power supply. Adapter
to a male PL-259 connector. Headphones.
Location: From the A Avenue
entrance, walk into the hospital past the information desk and take the hallway
to the right towards the elevators. The Telecommunications Office will be
on your right. This area is behind door labeled 192E. The coax to the antenna is located in the Telecommunication
break area. The coax is hanging down from the ceiling tile, and is coiled
up behind a shelf. It is labeled as "2 meter/440 MHz Dual Band Antenna".
If needed, there are emergency powered
110V outlets under the counter top. See also Access
Control procedures.

VHF Antenna at Mercy Hospital
Equipment Installed: VHF ground plane. Coax with a male RCA
connector.
Equipment Needed: Radio, power supply and headphones. Adapter to
a male RCA connector and about 20 feet of extra coax.
Location: Enter the ambulance entrance of Mercy Hospital. Go
through the next double doors and turn right to the door leading to Area
Ambulance dispatch. You will likely be asked to set up on a table that the
EMTs use to fill out paperwork.
Physically there are two antenna's on the corner of the ambulance drive
through. I expect I was connected to the quarter wave whip; it was measured it
with an MFJ antenna analyzer and was resonant at 148.000. It had an SWR of about
1.3 at 146.745. It did not work well on 440.
